Winter’s End Creates Pest Problems
Tuesday, 23rd March 2010
According to the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), the end of winter is often the beginning of serious pest control problems. Ice dams form in the winter months. These dams are blocks of ice that have water hidden behind them. They can damage homes, and they leave a great deal of moisture behind. Because moisture attracts pests, the NPMA suggests homeowners eliminate dams.
First, they need to clear snow off their roofs. Snow should be cleared immediately in order to prevent ice from building up. They should also make sure that their gutters and installation are properly installed. Lastly, they need to clean out their gutters and install gutter guards.
In addition, NPMA urges homeowners to contact a pest control professional to make sure their home is free of pests. Pests can enter the home, even when preventative measures are taken. A professional will examine the home and create a plan to remove the pests. Keywords: Winter’s End Creates Pest Problems
