Wildlife and Pests Are Moving Inside

Tuesday, 13th July 2010

According to WYFF Channel 4, the warm weather is creating pest control problems for homeowners. The heat has caused wildlife and pests to move indoors in search of food, shelter and water. Unfortunately, many homes provide these things for them. A few crumbs is often all a pest needs to survive, so many people are unwittingly feeding large populations of pests.

People can work to keep pests out of their homes, though. First, they need to vacuum and sweep their floors regularly. The smallest crumb can provide a meal for some pests, so every area of the floor needs to be cleaned.

Dirty dishes need to be washed immediately. If there are dishes in the sink, pests will jump in and grab a bite to eat.

Lastly, people need to take their trash out regularly. Those who do not accumulate a lot of trash should still empty their garbage regularly so pests cannot feed off their trash.

By doing these things, you will cut down on your chances of having a pest infestation.
