Warm Weather Brings Cockroaches
Thursday, 3rd June 2010
When the weather warms up, the cockroach population wakes up. According to NJ Today, cockroaches thrive in warm weather, which means people will likely see a surge of these pests. The newspaper states this is a cause for concern, as cockroaches are responsible for a variety of health issues.
Asthma is the biggest concern when it comes to cockroaches. Both living and dead cockroaches can cause people to have problems with asthma. This is especially problematic for children who live in urban areas.
There are other problems people must also consider. Cockroaches spend time in damp and dirty places, so they pick up germs and bacteria. Once they pick up the germs and bacteria, they spread them to humans. Some of the diseases and illnesses they spread are Salmonella, Gastroenteritis, Leprosy, Dysentery and Typhoid fever.
Since cockroaches lead to various health issues, people must take action as soon as they spot one of these pests. Without swift action, the cockroaches will be able to multiply, and thus, increase the chances of the home’s inhabitants of catching a disease. People must use the proper pest control techniques to eliminate the cockroaches immediately.
