Understanding Stinkbugs

Tuesday, 23rd February 2010

Stinkbugs are misunderstood pests. People are confused about the habits and issues surrounding these bugs, which often causes them to overreact when they spot one. These bugs are virtually harmless, even though they are a nuisance.

Philly.com reports that stinkbugs enter homes by hitchhiking on other items. They are also able to fly, which means they can come in through an open door or window. Homeowners should seal doors and windows and be mindful of the items they bring into their homes in order to prevent a stinkbug infestation.

The bugs do not bite people, but they feast on fruit. Stinkbugs have been known to do a great deal of damage to tree crops. While stinkbugs annoy homeowners, they are more than a nuisance to those who have crops.

Those who have a stinkbug infestation can use pest control techniques. However, it is important to note that few over the counter solutions are effective for treating stinkbugs. An understanding of stinkbugs, along with the right chemicals, is needed to eliminate these pests.
