Tips to Prevent Mosquitoes
Thursday, 10th June 2010
Mosquitoes bites cause itchy bumps, and in some cases, diseases. According to the St. Louis Globe, homeowners can take a few steps to keep mosquitoes from biting them.
First, people need to avoid wearing perfumes and colognes when they are outside. These smells attract mosquitoes, and thus lead to mosquito bites.
People also need to watch what they eat. Lots of sugar, salt and potassium make people more attractive to mosquitoes. However, garlic acts as a natural mosquito repellent. Thus, people should eliminate foods high in sugar, salt and potassium and eat more foods high in garlic.
Lastly, people should take 25 to 50 mg of vitamin B1 each day. When they take this dosage of B1, their skin will excrete some of the vitamin. The excretion will keep mosquitoes away.
These natural remedies are very helpful for preventative pest control. People can cut down on their bites, and thus lesson their chances of getting a disease from a mosquito.
