The Biggest Bed Bug Myth
Tuesday, 27th July 2010
Many people think bed bugs are attracted to filth. Thus, if they keep their homes clean and only stay in luxury hotels, they will not have to worry about bed bugs. CBS News recently debunked that myth. According to CBS, bed bugs are as common in clean homes and hotels as they are in dirty homes and hotels. Because of that, people cannot rely on good housekeeping skills and expensive hotel bills to protect them from bed bugs.
Awareness is the best form of protection. First, you need to be aware of how bed bugs enter into homes. They are hitchhikers, so they jump on clothing and in suitcases and come into homes.Wash your clothing and clean out your suitcase as soon as you come back from a trip.
Also, inspect your bedding.Pull off the sheets and look for signs of bed bugs.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking a clean home is all you need to keep bed bugs away. Keep your eyes open and look for signs of the bugs. Then, if you find bed bugs, use pest control measures to eliminate them.
