Most people know termites can be incredibly destructive. However, the degree of the destruction is often not realized. According to KVUE News, termites are an expensive and dangerous problem.

First, KVUE News states termites are the most expensive pest homeowners deal with. They cause between $2-$3 billion worth of damage annually. 

They are able to do this much destruction in part because of their high rates of reproduction. Termites swarm and multiply right between the walls of homes. Then, the new line of termites are able to start munching on the home and doing damage.

This season is expected to be an exceptionally active one for termites, as the weather has been warm and moist. Termites thrive in these conditions, which is why people must be proactive in regards to termites. The best form of pest control is prevention, and homeowners are encouraged to take steps to protect their homes from these dangerous pests.
