Termite Entrance Points
Thursday, 11th March 2010
According to Termite University, termites can enter homes in a variety of ways. When termites enter the home, they do a great deal of damage. Thus, homeowners need to recognize the termites’ entrance points so they can work to prevent an infestation.
Many termites enter the home through ductwork and construction joints. Bath traps, plumbing outlets and utility joints are also popular entrances for termites. In addition, termites can enter through cracks in the home’s foundation. Over time, a home’s foundation wall cracks, and termites can come into the home via the cracks.
Once the termites are in the home, the damage begins. Termites are responsible for billions of dollars of damage each year, and it all begins with them finding a way to get into the home.
Homeowners that see signs of termites need to take action immediately. The proper pest control techniques should be used in order to eliminate the termites in the fastest way possible.
