Protect Your Home From Bed Bugs

Friday, 25th June 2010

Many people don’t realize they have bed bugs. They wake up with bites, but think they were bitten by mosquitoes, ants or other insects. Because of that, few homeowners try to protect themselves against bed bugs. According to Volunteer TV, there are several things people can do to stop bed bugs from invading their homes.

First, people shouldn’t buy used furniture. When you buy used furniture, you run the risk of bringing bed bugs into your home.

People should also reduce clutter around their homes. Clutter makes great hiding spots for bed bugs. Put away your things and keep everything tidy so bed bugs don’t have hiding spots.

People can also cover their mattresses and box springs with mattress bags. Bed bugs often hide in the crevices and seams of mattresses, so this will make it harder for these pests to hang out on beds and bite people during the night.

If these tips do not work, contact a pest control professional immediately. You don’t have to live with bed bugs. If you can’t prevent them, you need to eliminate them.
