Problems Caused by Rats and Mice
Friday, 14th May 2010
According to Washington State University, rats and mice cause several problems. These problems highlight the need to use pest control measures on rodents when they appear in the home.
First, they contaminate food. If they get into a person’s food supply, they will contaminate it with feces and urine.
Next, they gnaw on products. They do this to create nests, and they can destroy materials, and even cause fires, in the process.
Rats and mice carry parasites and spread diseases. These parasites and diseases can be passed on to humans through direct contact, such as biting, or indirect contact.
In addition, in some cases, rats can become aggressive and bite people. This puts people at an even greater risk.
If you have rodents in your home, you need to take swift action. From starting house fires to spreading diseases, rodents can cause a great deal of damage to people and homes.
