Preventing Bed Bug Infestations
Thursday, 9th September 2010
Bed bugs can be a hassle for homeowners. They bite during the night, and cause itchy bites. Because of that, people look for ways to keep bed bugs out of their homes. According to the Rockdale Citizen, people can reduce the likelihood of getting a bedbug infestation by following a few simple tips.
First, people should not buy used beds or bedroom furniture. Used furniture can be infested with bed bugs. Then, when the new owner moves the furniture into his home, he ends up with a bed bug problem.
People should also be careful when they travel. After checking into a hotel, people should go around the room and look for signs of bed bugs, such as small blood spots.
In addition, travelers should use the luggage racks that are available in hotels. When people use luggage racks, they make it harder for bed bugs to jump into their suitcases.
Some people will still get bed bugs, even if they follow these preventative tips. When that is the case, they should contact a pest control professional immediately
