Pests Move Inside for the Fall
Wednesday, 13th October 2010
According to the National Pest Management Association, homeowners need to prepare themselves for the fall. During the fall, pests like cockroaches, rodents and spiders move indoors in order to protect themselves against the cold weather.
People can do several things in order to keep pests outdoors during the winter and fall months. First, they should install door sweeps and repair any screens that are damaged in the home. Next, they need to replace loose mortar and weather stripping, and seal cracks and crevices inside and outside of the house. In addition, firewood should be stored away from the house, and leaks and other sources of moisture should be eliminated.
By following these tips, homeowners will lessen their chances of having a pest problem during the fall and winter months. If, however, they do find pests inside of their home, they can contact a pest control professional. The professional will inspect their homes and come up with a treatment method to control the pests.
