Pests are more active in the summer than they are in other months. According to WAPT in Jackson, Mississippi, there are several things people can do to protect their homes from pests.People need to keep their landscaping trimmed and make sure it is not touching the home. When the landscaping touches the home, it gives pests the opportunity to go from the yard to the house. They simply get on the landscaping and go right up to the home. Then, they look for an entry point.
People must also keep their gutters clean. Dirty gutters can cause a buildup of water. Water attracts pests, which is why dirty gutters must be cleaned immediately.
Lastly, WAPT suggests homeowners have their homes inspected by a pest control professional every three months when the weather is warm. That way, pests can be eliminated before they get out of hand.
Follow these tips so you can have a pest free summer. Remember, trim your landscaping, clean your gutters and keep the number of the pest control company on hand.
