Pest Control For A Better World
Monday, 5th September 2011
There are a lot of problems affecting the world today. Much of the world is going hungry, countless more are experiencing dire financial problems, and even more are under oppression from powerful, corrupt governments. Yet one of the biggest problems that often goes unspoken is that of disease – especially the spread of disease through pests that are quickly overpopulating some of these downtrodden areas.
That is why the National Pest Management Association has been lending its services to areas around the world with need. They have recently completed a trip to Haiti, where they provided:
- Installing pest control screens to protect hospital patients from flies and mosquitos.
- Adding protection to emergency rooms and operating rooms.
- Placing rat bait and other traps to reduce the rat population.
NPMA, along with local pest management companies, successfully helped reduce the pest population as best they can. While further efforts will be necessary to help these countries fully recover from the problems afflicting them, the NPMA – as well as the companies that support them – are going to continue doing their part to try to make these countries safer places to be for those that live there. Local and world governments will need to do their part, but organizations like NPMA will continue to do what they can in the interim.
