Outside Damage and Rodents

Thursday, 4th February 2010

According to Paul Rogers for Telegram.com, rodents pose a threat for gardeners, as well as those who have plants and trees in their yards. Rogers discusses the problems people can face if they have an outdoor rodent infestation.

Mice, squirrels and chipmunks feed on the root systems of perennials and the bark of trees. As the cold weather increases, the damage increases as well, as more rodents actively search for food sources.

As rodents feed outdoors, there is also a risk of them coming indoors. Thus, it is essential for homeowners to eliminate the rodents outside.

There are outdoor pest control methods that can be used in order to get rid of rodents and prevent future infestations. These include cleaning the yard, trimming trees and avoiding having plants that rodents tend to feed on.

In some cases, though, other measures must be taken. When that is the case, homeowners can contact a professional pest control company in order to have the rodents removed from the area.
