Mice and Asthma
Monday, 26th April 2010
According to PCT Magazine, there is a strong link between exposure to rodents and asthma. Studies show a large numbers of people become asthmatic after being exposed to mice and rats for a period of time.
PCT Magazine states the studies show proteins in the urine lead to bronchial hyperactivity. In the past, it was widely believed people reacted to the fur of the rodents.
In addition to pointing out the link between the urine proteins and asthma, researchers claim there is likely a passive transfer of allergens. Thus, if someone is exposed to mice or rats in one location, they can infect someone else who was not directly exposed. They carry the proteins with them and transfer them to other people.
Asthma is a serious issue and should not be ignored. Those who have mice or rats should use the proper pest control techniques to eliminate them quickly. This is necessary so people can live healthy lives.
