Keep Animals Out of Your Home
Tuesday, 16th February 2010
During the winter, rodents move inside homes for protection against the elements. There are preventative measures homeowners can take in order to keep rodents out of their homes.
Angie Hicks, the founder of Angie’s List, recently shared tips to keep rodents from invading homes. Hicks recommends homeowners install a chimney cap. In addition, people should keep the flue closed when they are not using the fireplace.
Traditional pet doors are also a problem, as rodents can enter into homes by using these doors. Electronic pet doors should be used instead of traditional pet doors.
In addition, homeowners should inspect their homes and check for any cracks. Mice can enter through small cracks, which is why it is important for people to take their time and examine every inch of their homes. In addition to doing a standard examination, they should go along the walls and look for light that is seeping through cracks. It is easier to find the light than it is to find the cracks, so people can use the light as an indicator.
Homeowners should take these steps to prevent an infestation. Prevention is an important part of pest control.
