Inspecting Carpeted Rooms for Ants
Tuesday, 6th April 2010
In order for homeowners to properly deal with an ant infestation, they have to find out how the ants are entering the home. When the infestation is in a carpeted room, people cannot simply look around to find the entrance points the ants are using. According to PCT Magazine, there are steps homeowners should follow when dealing with ants in carpeted rooms.
If ants are spotted in a carpeted room, the homeowner needs to go to the walls that face the exterior of the room. They can then pull the edge of the carpet up and look for an infestation. The carpet does not have to be pulled up far to find the ants.
Once ants are found under the carpet, the homeowner needs to find out how they are entering the room. This is done by pulling up carpet every three to four feet around the room. Eventually the ant trail will stop. When it stops, the person will be able to find out how the ants are entering the home.
After the infestation is discovered, pest control measures can be taken to eliminate the ants. The ants should be removed quickly so they will not be able to damage the home.
