Have You Inspected for Termites

Tuesday, 13th July 2010

Warm weather means lots of things. It means baseball games and barbeques. It means school’s out for the summer, and the days are longer. It also means termites. While people are spending their spring and summer days lounging out by the pool, termites are packing their bags and looking for a new home to infest.Once they find a house with some delicious wood, they will stay until a pest control professional drives them out.

With that in mind, you need to do a little termite inspection. You won’t find any tiny termite suitcases (they stow those away out of sight), but there are a few things you can look for.

Look for mud tubes. Tubes can be located in the basement, crawlspace our outside of your home. They’re about the width of a pencil, so look closely.

Also, inspect your wood and look for damage. If you find soft, sagging wood, you might have some termites in your home.

If you have termites, you need to take immediate action.Termites cause billions of dollars of damage each year, and you don’t want to be a victim of these pesky critters.
