Don’t Let Bed Bugs Come Home with You
Friday, 4th June 2010
During the spring and summer months, families are on the go. They travel the country, stay in hotels and pick up bed bugs. Bed bugs love the warm months, because they have lots of opportunities to find a new family to go home with. According to My Eyewitness News, there are several things people can do while traveling to keep bed bugs from nesting in their homes.
First, people should avoid putting their clothing in a hotel’s drawers. Put your luggage on the luggage rack and keep your clothing in the suitcase. Be sure the luggage rack is far away from the bed, as you don’t want bed bugs to move from the bed to the suitcase.
Once you get home, wash your clothes in hot water. Also, wash your suitcase and vacuum it out. These extra precautions will help protect your home.
If you still end up with a bed bug infestation, contact a pest control professional immediately. They will be able to come into your home and eliminate the bugs.
