Does Your Mattress Have Bed Bugs?

Tuesday, 15th June 2010

If you are staying in a hotel, you need to be on the lookout for bed bugs. According to About.com, you can check the hotel for bed bugs by carefully examining your mattress.

When you arrive in the room, walk over to the bed and remove the pillows. Then, pull the linens down so the mattress is exposed. Mattresses have seams, and those seams are great hiding spots for bed bugs.

Examine the mattress and look for bed bugs, as well as bed bug droppings. Bed bugs droppings resemble pepper.   If you see anything that looks like a bug or pepper, go to the front desk and let them know they have bed bugs. Then, you will need to decide if you are going to stay at the hotel or get a room elsewhere. If you do choose to stay in the same hotel, do not go back to that room.

Bed bugs are becoming common in hotels, so you need to take precautions. Use this simple search technique so you can protect yourself when you are on vacation.
