Dead Cicadas Still Causing Trouble
Tuesday, 6th September 2011
Cicadas may not be that common in Virginia, especially when compared to some of its neighboring states, but they are still a great example of a pest that can be a tremendous nuisance, flying in and around your home and bothering you and your family. These insects may not be dangerous, but they are a hassle, and certainly not a pest you want inside of your home.
This post by MSNBC reminds us that pests are not only a nuisance when they’re alive. At several schools in the middle of Tennessee, the maintenance staff found that scores of dead cicadas in the air ducts – an amazing ten gallons full in one school alone. It is estimated that it will take 3 weeks or more to clear the air ducts of all of these large dead insects.
The Pest-Ness of PestsStories like this serve as a good reminder of why these insects are considered pests in the first place. Even in death, these bugs can have an effect on the comfort of your home, whether it’s the dead flies that gather up near your windows or the dead bees that whose stingers still work, bugs both alive and dead can impact your quality of life. That’s why Connor’s works so hard to try to remove these pests from in and around your property.
