Common Sense Tips for Pest Prevention
Wednesday, 19th May 2010
From aggravation to illnesses, pests create a variety of problems for homeowners. According to the Cleveland County Star, people can follow some common sense tips and cut down on the number of pests that make it into their homes.
First, people should keep their doors closed. It is common for people to leave their doors open during the warm spring and summer months. However, people need to realize pests enter homes through open doors. Even leaving a door open for a few minutes can lead to a pest infestation. Thus, only open doors when walking through them.
Open windows can also lead to infestations. While the spring air might be refreshing, an open window will provide pests with an entrance to the house. Keep the windows closed and step outside when you need some fresh air.
Damaged screens are another problem for homeowners. People need to walk around their homes and repair or replace their screens.
These few simple things can make a big difference in pest prevention. If bugs do make it into the house anyway, though, people can contact a pest control professional, who will be able to take care of the problem.
