Cockroaches and Diseases

Cockroaches carry several bacteria, worms and pathogens that are dangerous to humans. Medical News Today states the pests spread 33 different kinds of bacteria, six parasitic worms and seven other types of human pathogens. Because of this, cockroaches are considered dangerous.
The types of diseases spread by cockroaches are under debate. Medical News Today points out cockroaches crawl through sewage and other areas full of bacteria. They carry the bacteria with them. Because of that, many believe the number of diseases cockroaches could carry is limitless.
The Better Health Channel states there is a strong probability that cockroaches spread salmonella, staphylococcus and streptococcus. Other researchers are continuing to study cockroaches in an effort to find out which diseases can be spread by contact with the roach’s fecal matter and body parts.
Pest control is the best way to fight against cockroach related diseases. By eliminating the occurrence of cockroaches, homeowners can prevent the transference of diseases.
