Bedbug Infestations are Spreading

Bed bugs have been found in various establishments. From movie theaters to office buildings, bed bugs have been making appearances across the United States. According to NPR, this trend means more homeowners will end up with bed bug infestations.

Bed bugs are hitchhikers, so they jump onto people’s clothing as they move from one place to the next. For instance, someone can go to the office and end up with bed bugs on their clothing. Then, when they go home in the evening, the bed bugs will jump off the clothing and find hiding spots within the home.

When that happens, people can end up with a serious infestation. It is important that people call a pest control professional before the infestation gets out of hand. If the professional is called early enough, he can eliminate the bugs and salvage all of the homeowner’s belongings. If people wait too long, though, their furniture and other items may have to be discarded. Thus, it is essential that people take immediate action if they have bed bugs in their homes.
