Bed Bug Sniffing Dogs
Wednesday, 21st April 2010
Dogs are the newest soldiers in the war against bed bugs. According to the Press-Enterprise, canines have skills that make them the bed bug detection option of choice.
Dogs use their senses to find bed bugs. They detect live bed bugs and eggs, and alert their handlers to the problem. They do this with incredible accuracy.
They don’t just detect the bed bugs that are visible. They can find bugs behind wallpaper, in wall sockets and other areas that are undetectable by the human eye.
In addition, canines are able to cover a home or commercial property much faster than humans can. Dogs can go through a home in a matter of minutes. On the other hand, it takes humans hours to inspect a home for bed bugs.
Canines make pest control easier, because they isolate the bed bug problem. Then a pest control professional can come in and eliminate the bed bugs.
