Bed Bug Invasions
Monday, 8th February 2010
Bed bugs have made a comeback of late, causing many people to wonder how a bed bug infestation occurs. Homeowners need to understand how bed bugs enter into houses so they can prevent an infestation.
According to The Harvard School of Public Health, bed bugs act as stowaways. They hide on luggage, furniture, clothing and other objects.
Thus, it is important that people protect their belongings while traveling. In addition, do not pick up discarded furniture from the street. Bed bugs could be nesting in the furniture, and you do not want to bring them into your home. Bed bugs can go months without feeding, so they can easily survive on discarded furniture until it finds a new home. Leave the furniture on the curb.
Homeowners should take precautions to prevent bedbugs from traveling with them. In addition, those who have an infestation should take the proper pest control measures in order to eliminate the bed bugs.
