No one wants to share a home with ants. However, most people do not know how to keep the pests outdoors. According to the Press of Atlantic City, people can follow a few simple tips and keep ants from visiting their homes.

First, they need to make sure their homes are free of crumbs. People should clean up after they eat and do their dishes immediately. In addition, they need to keep their sinks clean and rinse out food and drink containers before placing them in the garbage.

Pet food can also attract ants. People shouldn’t leave pet food out. They should feed their pets and then seal the food up until the next feeding.

Lastly, people need to go around their homes and eliminate all sources of water. They must fix the leaks and wipe up any standing water. If ants cannot get a drink inside of a home, they will move on to the next house.
