Bad Mosquito Season in Florida

People in the state of Florida are in for a bad season for mosquitoes according to local officials. Pest control companies in the area are working around the clock to manage mosquito populations, both by killing larvae found in puddles and by spraying large stretches of land with pesticides.

This aggressive approach comes in response to a record population of mosquitoes booming during the rainy season. Usually mosquitoes begin to crop up across the country in the late spring, becoming particularly numerous after the rainiest parts of the summer and sticking around long enough to be a nuisance at cookouts across the country. However, officials in Florida claim that this time around the mosquito population in the Sunshine State is particularly troublesome.

The tactic of nightly spraying to control adult populations and killing larvae in water sources is necessary just to keep the population under control. Without these measures the mosquito population would grow out of control, and the illnesses related to mosquito bites would go up in the area.
