The kids are out of school, and you’re getting ready for your big vacation. You’ve packed your bags, booked your hotel and loaded up the car. It won’t be long before you’re away from all of the stresses of life.
On the other side of town, the bed bugs are getting ready for you to arrive at their hotel. It’s their vacation as well, and they want to take it with you. While you are checking into your room and getting settled, they are scoping out your belongings and deciding if they want to travel with you.
Bed bugs are hitchhikers, so they are always looking for the next way out of town. You need to take precautions when you stay in a hotel so you aren’t that one way ticket they are looking for.
When you stay in a hotel, you need to:
• Use your luggage rack
• Take the comforter off the bed
• Look around the mattress and headboard for signs of bed bugs
By doing these things, you can keep bed bugs out of your suitcase and off your clothes. That means you won’t have to worry about playing tour guide to these nasty pests.
Still, there is a chance a bug or two will end up making the trek back home with you. Thus, as soon as you get home:
• Wash all of your clothes immediately
• Vacuum out your suitcase
Have a fun and bed bug free vacation. Don’t share your spring and summer months with bed bugs. They are terrible houseguests, so don’t bring them home with you.
