Arguably the most BENIFICAIL mammals in the world, bats come in many shapes ad sizes. The two very common to Virginia are the Little Brown and the Big Brown Bat. With the Little Brown being the most common. The Virginia Big Eared Bat is currently on the Endangered Species List

Little brown bats are insectivorous, eating a variety of insects including some agricultural pests. They can eat 50% of their own body weight each evening The young are born from mid-June to early July. Little brown bats generally have one offspring per year, occasionally two. The young become self-supporting within a month.
